German Embassy Algiers
Design and spatial implementation of an artwork by Peter Zimmermann
Context
Artist Peter Zimmermann is invited to participate in an art-in-architecture competition for the new German Embassy in Algiers. Together, we develop a concept for a multilayered glass installation beneath a skylight, illuminated by natural daylight.
Concept
To represent “German values”, a photograph of the German federal flag is transformed through a series of digital operations. The image transitions into a symbol of a free and multilayered society.
